Vengeance Road by Christine Feehan is a second chance romance story with a motorcycle club and paranormal romance flair. I enjoyed the read and look forward to seeing what’s next for the club in the future! Please remember to check the trigger warnings (which are available at the end of the review) before starting the book! Torpedo Ink deals with a lot of dark topics, and as such there are multiple potential triggers within the read.

Something I noticed on my most recent re-read of this book is that there are a couple of similarities between this series and Ms. Feehan’s Dark series. Both Steele and Gregori Daratrazanoff are the second in command of Torpedo Ink and the Carpathians respectively. Both are renowned healers, yet also feared for their fighting ability. And they both like having things their way and aren’t the biggest fans of when their partner disagrees (though they do occasionally concede to their partner’s judgment when they can’t argue with their logic).

Steele and Breezy’s relationship wasn’t always as swoon-worthy for me as some of the other pairings in Torpedo Ink. I wish he had been a bit more kind when Breezy had explained the situation about Zane. Like, “yes I get why you were so scared and hid Zane from everyone but it wasn’t okay” instead of going caveman on her. She had a very legitimate reason to fear raising her child in a motorcycle club, and he was the one who threw her out in the first place. How was she supposed to know, especially at such a young age, that he did it to protect her? Despite some minor issues, I still enjoyed the ride and getting to see them have a happy ending at the end of the book (I would not have finished this book if anything bad had happened to Zane).

The narrator Jim Frangione did a great job with the performance for this book. I do wish that each series had a separate narrator to differentiate things a bit. Overall, another great read for fans of paranormal romance and motorcycle club romance stories. If you enjoy this series, I recommend checking out Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalkers or Shadow Riders series. Both have similar vibes to Torpedo Ink and include similar levels of violence and darkness.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Abuse, Human Trafficking, Pedophilia, Rape, Sexual Assault, Violence, Torture, Kidnapping
