Irish Twins Myles and Beckett, Artemis Fowl's younger brothers, return in their third and most bizarre adventure yet.
For almost two years, Lord Teddy Bleedham-Drye, the Duke of Scilly, has been plotting revenge against the Fowl Twins, who humiliated him in Book One. Teddy plans to give them exactly what they deserve: permanent death.
He threatens Myles with his weaponized jet and Beckett and Specialist Lazuli
succeed in disarming the aircraft and causing an accident that kills the duke.
But does it really?
Ghosts, clones, and fairy magic come to play in this ultimate and ridiculous
showdown between the twins and their worst enemy.
*Like its bestselling progenitors, a nonstop
spinoff afroth with high-tech, spectacular magic, and silly business.--Kirkus (starred

The Fowl Twins Get What They Deserve by Eoin Colfer is the third installment in the adventure of our favorite twins, Myles and Beckett Fowl. Mr. Colfer delivered yet another brilliant book that mixes fantasy with science and is full of the mischief and mayhem readers have come to expect from The Regrettables (Beckett's name for their little group - complete with a catchy theme song!)
Readers get to learn a bit more about Myles and Beckett's individual talents, as well as the mystery of Lazuli's past and heritage. I really loved how Mr. Colfer weaves in references and easter eggs from the original series (I also appreciate that he provides info on which book particular references are from when needed - "see LEP file: The Last Guardian"). Despite being complete opposites (Myles is non-physical and has been known to fall while walking up the stairs and Beckett is proud for managing to read one children's book a year) the twin's bond remains one of my favorite parts of the series. They complete each other, and their innate ability to know when something is wrong with their counterpart has been integral to their success and escaping from their escapades alive.
After finishing the eARC, I'm even more excited to hear Nathaniel Parker's narration of the book. He absolutely knocked it out of the park with the first two books, so I'm sure The Fowl Twins Get What They Deserve will be just as amazing.
I had to remind myself that despite this being set in the same universe, The Fowl Twins is not meant to be a repeat of the original Artemis Fowl series. Myles is a genius, but it's made quite clear that he is not Artemis (and he has no desire to be). Lazuli is not supposed to be a carbon copy of Holly Short. And Lord Teddy Bleedham-Drye is definitely not Opal Koboi. I think that some people can forget that when you have multiple series with different characters set in the same universe, and I don't want readers to have unrealistic expectations going into the book and leave disappointed.
I would recommend this book to readers of all ages who enjoy stories that blur the lines between fantasy and science. If you want a series that offers equal parts mystery and comedy, then you've come to the right place. Thank you to the author Eoin Colfer, Disney Books, and Rockstar Book Tours for allowing me to read an early copy of the book as part of my participation in the tour. I appreciate the opportunity immensely.
